Today's WOMAN
FLORAL SHEERS, VIVID AS A SUMMER • FLOWER . . .
Here are frocks as gay as the gay spots they will take you to, all summer long. Chalk-white chiffon patterned in full-blown roses (above—left) shows a fanpleated skirt, picture frame neck, softly shirred sleeves and deep blue grosgrain belt. It is worn with a wide-brimmed navy straw with shallow net crown buried in crimson roses.
The shirt-waist frock (above — right) is in monotone sheer print with red flowers etched on a navy background. All its outlines are neatly defined in navy grosgrain ribbon and the skirt boasts its own bright system for skirt-full-ness-fluting. Wear it all day long, and by way of contrast add a navy straw mushroom that ties under the chin and poses a sentimental dove on its crown.
Greet summer with a cool navy chiffon print (left) spattered in snow-white stars. It is a swirl skirt frock, with wide blue velvet sash. The picture hat is in black shantung with a red rose nodding sweetly from the brim.
Feathery pink print daisies on black chiffon (right), with rows of frilly ruffles for sleeves, repeated in a saucy flounce at the hem of the kilt-pleated skirt. The navy Bangkok bonnet is trimmed with pink hyacinths and a fishnet veil.
Soft sheer frocks demand a fitting coat, tut on soft, flattering lines. Navy is worn over navy and white (below) with wide white straw hat bound, in navy grosgrain ribbon.
