FRENCH SHIP IGNORES ORDER TO STOP
PARIS, December 8.
The steamer Grand Quevilly, despite the fact that a shot was fired across her bows, did not heed an order by an Insurgent warship to stop. The French destroyer Basque, which was recently detailed for patrol in the Straits of Gibraltar, went at full speed to the assistance of the Grand Quevilly, which was able to' proceed.
