HOLIDAYS WITH THE Y.W.C.A.
Very attractive solutions to the holiday problem are being provided by the Wellington Y.W.C.A. A party, which will consist of 22 people, is being organized to leave Wellington for the South Island on the night of Friday, December 23. A comfortable bus has been chartered, and a round trip will be made to the Franz Josef Glacier, up the West Coast to Nelson, and down the East Coast to Christchurch again. Interesting side trips and picnics have been planned for every day, and the party will return to Wellington on the morning of Wednesday, January 4. Another holiday nearer home is planned at Solway, Masterton, where the girls will camp at thw school. Swimming, tenuis, bush picnics, inter; est groups, out-of-door frolics, and indoor festivities are among the attractions- promised. From December 26 till January 4 the camp will be open to. business’girls, and from January 5 till January 16 a schoolgirls’ camp is to be held. Miss E. M. Benell, acting general secretary of the Wellington Y.W.C.A., will be in charge of the South Island tour, and Miss A. Kirkwood, senior girls’ activities secretary, will be in charge of the Solway camp. Particulars may be obtained from the Y.W.C.A., Boulcott Street.
Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Morris left Wellington by the Awatea this week for Sydney, where they intend to reside in future. , , Mrs. Theo. Busck has returned to her home in Auckland after viisting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. N. R. Meadows, Lower Hutt. Mrs S. G. La Roche, Masterton, has left to join Mr. La Roche in Christchurch, where they will in future reside.
