Mr. Eraser, said that n humble beginning was made in IS7!> when six students were trained iti the M'elle.sley Street School. Today New Zealand had four training colleges with more than 1500 students, and next year there would be approximately 1600. Auckland had the only really creditable college With adequate grounds and equipment. but before long oilier centres would be in tr similar position. It. was the Government’s intention to train sufficient, teachers to enable overlarge clades to be reduced.
