Quarterly Meeting
The quarterly meeting of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association was held last, night, the president, Air. J. C. Peacock. presiding over a good attendance of delegates. AA'hen moving the adoption of the quarterly report, which was carried without discussion. Air. A. Al. Pinkerton, chairman of the management committee, said the coaching scheme was well under way. but there was still a need for more coaches.
Finances had been giving the committee some concern, and. arising out of that, representative fixtures had been e<llle expressed the hope that the At elliiigton tournament would be successful, and mentioned Hint two Australian women players would be competing. Arraii’gonieuls had been finalized for the holding of an art union, and the success of the venture would depend upon the co-operation of delegates, clubs and players. In asking delegates, when discussing the report, to confine their remarks to matters other than finance, the chairman said that matters of finance would bo more convenient to take in committee. The report having been adopted, the meeting went into committee immediately.
