"In Ihe I nit ed States they have a system of through streets by which there is a compulsory stop before - a motorist can go from a side street on io a main highway. Most of the motoring accidents in the United States occur on the main highways, where motorists travel at excessive speeds.” Traffic control in Chicago and New York was very good, both synchronized lights and police control being used, and tr.'itlie jams wore not frequent. In England be encountered a good deal of conges Lion in the larger cilies. Tin- problem of London appeared to be that a large amount-of slow-moving ri-.-ifli ■ was still. per.au t.te.d.
