December 8. • The honours at Ellerslie this morning went to Marie's Acre, who registered a smart effort over hull' a mile. Others to work well were Birthday Boy. Jonathan, and Tooley Street. Respectful went well, and appeared to have something in hand. . After schooling, Love tn Idleness strode over six furlongs in LA- “T" Norse Lady finished slightly in .rout of Full of Scotch in I.JS 1-5, the first three being run in 37 4-5. It was an unproved effort on the part of Norse Liinv. Full of Scotch worked with plenty ot treedoom. Both are to race on the Taranaki circuit during the holidays.

High Caste Given Easy Task.

High Caste (' Wiggins) was given an easy sprint, over three furlongs, which took 43. , , ~ . Glen Abb (Coon) concluded Last three furlungs of his work in 40 4-o. Valrean (Tremain) moved smarUy to record 3S 2-5 for three furlongs. Stretto came home the last three turiongs of strong work over two rounds m 40 2-5. She moved smoothly, and looks to be in great trim. Jack Tar (Green) displayed dash to record 3S 1-5 lor the last three Hackcnschmidt was sent over a round, running the last six furlongg in 1.-1 4-o. and tiie three in 4'l. He was going strongly at the finish. There was little between Birthday Loy Jonathan (Tremain), and Barrister (Cammick) at the conclusion of a’ round in 1.45, the last six furlongs taking 1.19, and the half-mile u 4 l-l>. Birthday Boy and Jonathan appeared to have a good deal in reserve, and both are expected to nice 'prominently &t Le Rapa next week. Shy covered a round in 1.4-9, the last six’ furlongs in L2O, and the half-mile in 52. He finished well considering that he carried a good weight. . Illimani and Baldric were associated over a round in 1.-17 3-5, the last six furlongs occupying 1.1.9 4-5. and the halfmile in '53 3-5. Illimani finished a shade in front, and it wa« a fair effort for bota jumpers. Marie’s Acre Impresses. Marie's Acre finished half a length in front of Surella and Philcourt, who were together, at the end of half a mile m 48 4-5, the first furlong being run in D o-u. Marie's Acre worked impressively ami demonstrated that ,he is approaching his best. Philcourt also pleased, Royal Abb was not hurried to run live furlongs in 1.5 4-t>. the first two taking 25 3-5. . After running the first furlong in 10, La Vie was travelling comfortably at the end of half a mile in 51 2-5. Hot Shot, Oriental Bay and Royal Message finished in that order at the conclusion of live furlongs in 1.4 1-5. They went fast in the early stages, running tjie first two in 24 2-5. Hot Shot is displaying improvement after his racing. Conceding the others a start, Oriental Bay finished nicely in the straight, and has gone on the right way since he raced at Ellerslie. Electric Spear wan not required to do his best wjiile running half a mile in 55 4-5, the first furlong taking 13 4-5. Land Court went freely while covering three furlongs in 38 4-5.

Erination strode over six furlongs in 1..25 2-5, the first three occupying 41. 3-5. He has not been taxed lately’ and has freshened up well. _ . ■ Esquire finished in front of King Dazzle at the end of three furlongs in 37 2-5. It, was an improved showing by Esquire and King Dazzle looked as if he could have done better.

Tooley .Street registered 38 for three furlongs, finishing with plenty of dash. Tupeotu ran half a mile in 52, Fleetwind making similar time. After schooling Rajanya strode over six furlongs in 1.21 3-5. Pasture worked over a round, running the first six furlongs easily in 1.20 3-5. .She is being tried over more ground and is shaping satisfactorily. On the two-year-old track Kouneta worked steadily over two rounds and appeared to be moving more freely than recently. Love in Idleness schooled over four hurdles w.tisfactorily, though she got too close to the last. Baldric cleared two hurdles in faultless style. lie may soon be seen to advantage in jumping events.

Rajanya was sent over a puny hurdle several times, giving an encouraging display.
