THE cast of principals in Walter Wanger’s “Trade Winds,” costarring Frederic March and Joan Bennett, includes Ralph Bellamy, Ann Sotliern, Alan Baxter, Sidney Blackmer, Thomas Mitchell ami Linda Minters. Incidentally, Miss Bennett will be seen as a brunette in the picture for the first time in her screen career. The action of “Trade Winds,” which Tay Garnett is directing from an original story by himself, takes place in seven Pacific countries.* Art director Alexander Tohiboff has created 79 sets for the production, and natives of Hawaii, China, Indo-China, Malaya, Ceylon arm] India will provide atmosphere for the scenes laid iu their respec ti ve conn tries. J/JLM rights to “Zenobia's Infidelity,” H. C. Brunner’s humorous story about an elephant and a doctor, have | been purchased by Hal Roach. The | story relates the adventures of a country practitioner who loses caste with his patients through his ministrations to an elephant burned in a circus fire. Norman Blackburn has been engaged to write the screen treatment, and Roland Young has been awarded the role of the doctor.
