Returns For November Figures dealing with unemployment registrations were released for publication yesterday by tlie Minister of Labour, Mr. Armstrong. He said the unemployment return lor November 19, including those on the register who were for health or oilier reasons unlit for employment, discloses a reduction of IOCC7 as against, the corresponding figure for November 20. 1937. Compared witli the po,sit ion for the previous month there was a decrease of COO. Details were as follow: — Nov. 19 1938 Registered but. not ou relief 507 On sustenance awaiting placement. -• ~ On Scheme 5 relief •• ■■ 019 Total On sustenance, unfit, for employment. for health or other reasons, but being afforded relief from the Employment Promotion Fund . • •• '->B3 For tlie four-weekly period .older review, the expenditure from the fund under the beading of promotion of employment, as distinct from relief expenditure, was estimated at £531,122.
