Four iiotie.es are published in this week's "Gazette'’ by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr. Sullivan. They relate to four industries licensed under the Industrial EHicietle,' Act, 1936. The industries referred to are tlie manufacture of cement. I’orllaud and other stiiiclnr.'il or building cement ; the iiianiil'adnre of batteries or cells, commonly known as dry cells; the taking of oysters from oyster beds: ami lhe export of fish. whether fresh or preserved. Under Hie earlier "(t.izelte" notices whereby these four imliistries were declared as licensed ones, those persons who were then engaged in carrying on the respective industries were exempted from applying to Hie Bureau ol IndiisIry for licences till December I. 1935. The effect of the four notices now published is to extend lhe exemption to .January 1, 1910. In a statement, today Mr. Sullivan said licences had been issued or were now proposed to be issued in respect of all industries licensed under Hie Industrial Efficiency Act except, in six
