DUCHESS OF ATHOLL TO RECONTEST SEAT

The Duchess of Atholl has resigned her seat in Parliament and will fight an immediate by-election owing to a majority of the members of the committee of the Kinross and West Perth Unionist Association disagreeing with her opposition to the Governments foreign policy. A message on November 20 stated that (he Kinross ami West Perth Unionist Association decided by 273 votes Io 167 to seek a candidate in place of Hie Duchess of Atholl. whose Liberal views were a thorn in the side of many Conservatives. It was slated Hint she intended to sfirnd as an Independent.
