Aims Of Old Contemptibles’ Association Outlined

The aims and objects vl the <Hd Loutemptibles' Association were outlined by Mr S McDonald at the monthly tattoo of the Tin Hat Club held in Wellington last night. Mr. McDonald, who presided, was installed in office with the usual eeremonv by Mr. D. Ekbofl. The Gid Contempt Udes' Association was founded in by rhe late Captain Denny on June 25, 11)25. said Mr. McDonald. The most exclusive exservicemen's association in the world, it now had a membership ol 1.0.000 in the 42 areas in which it operated. I'herc were 178 brandies throughout the world. He spoke of the achievement* of the Old Coutcmptibles in the early stages of the Great War and said that the association aimed to assist its less fortunate members 10. get employment, or to emi'wate to and settle in other countries. It also aimed. Io give its members medical assistance wheu required. to get them pension consideration, and tn help the widows of former members. M alker conducted the Tin Hat Club Orchestra hi the absence of Mr. P. Cole. . Supper was served at the conclusion of the evening.
