County Batsmen Fail Badly

Declaring their innings closed at the overnight score of 379 for five wickets, the Australian cricketers beat Durham to-day by an innings and 178 runs, the county making 105 and 96. The spin bowlers O’Reilly and Fleetwood-Smith shared equally the 20 wickets which fell.

Sent in on a damp wicket as a result of overnight fog, the Durham batsmen were completely at sea to the spin bowlers FleetwoodSmith and O’Reilly, who ended the innings in 110 minutes.
