GOLF MARATHON PLAYED BY SCHOOLBOY

Kansas City, August 9. A schoolboy, Charles Richardson, aged 18, who finished with blistered feet, played a golf marathon of 173 holes in 11 hours 15 minutes, beating the record of the Chicago broker, M. J. Smith Ferrebe. Richardson averaged 82 strokes a round.

A cablegram received from Chicago on Monday stated that Ferrebe, playing through thunderstorms, had won a wager by playing 141 holes of golf in 15 hours 5 minutes. His scores for the eight rounds in order were: 90, 82, 82, 82, 87, 87, 88, 89. The wager was for half a Virginian plantation worth 15,000 dollars and 2500 dollars cash. Ferrebe and another broker wanted to dissolve their partnership in the plantation. They could not agree on terms and finally decided on the wager.
