Loan Pictures Exhibited

The Wellington Sketch Club has at present on view 37 sketches and drawings on loan from the Rutland Art Group. Auckland, at the Aeronautical . < lub rooms, Lam’bton Quay. The Pictures form an interesting collection and include landscape, still life and portraiture in water-colour, oils and black and white. The exhibition is provocative as much ot the work is done in a manner which is distinctly modern. Many of the pictures are of high quality, and still life subjects by F E MacDonald, S. Bourelot, A, V. Swinton, and A. T. Inglis., deserve mention. Two street scenes ot Auckland in water colour by Peggy Spicer and Bessie Christie are totally different in treatment but both command admiration. A hthographic interior study by Phyllis Crowley has some rood drawing in it supplemented by an effective treatment of light and shade B. Hazelwood is responsible for a life-like portrait study of a Chinese Ch The exhibition will continue this evening.
