Mossy Creek Gold Dredging Co

Mossy Creek Cold Dredging Co., Ltd., reports for the year ended May 31 total gold won was 15860 z. 19dwt. llgr., realising £11,775/18/7 net. compared with ]9140z. valued at £14,408 for the previous year. Dredging costs and bushfelling amounted to £7857/3/10. compared with £6931/13/7 for the 1937 period. Costs of maintenance and replacement were higher by £770. The balance brought forward from last year was £l2/19/10. After transferring credit of profit and loss account £3037/13/9 and providing for dividend paid hist December, and income tax riwrrr, the balance to credit of appropriation account stands at £1783/3/1. The company’s property has been maintained “in tirst-claeis condition.’’ states the report. Operations for the year were not so successful as had been hoped for. Average returns were sufficient to meet outgoings and keep the dredge fully maintained and equipped, but did not permit continuance of the distributions to shareholders of the previous year. An area of 15 acres was dropped ns unpayable. London Butter Market Quiet Ixnidon. August 9. The butter market is quiet. Choicest salted New Zealand, 121/- to 122/- a cwt., Australian 119/- to 121)/-.
