Yesterday’s Accidents

Severe head injuries nn<l concussion were received by Margaret Lena, a child, 547 Adelaide Road, Wellington, when her mother, Mrs. V. Lena, who was carrying her across Adelaide Roa'd. was knocked down by a motor-lorry at about 9.15 yesterday morning. Mrs. Lena, who received an injured right arm, and her daughter were taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance. Although .Mrs. TjCiiii was later discharged the baby's con'dition was serious, and late last night she was reported to be still unconscious ■When he fell <>lT some scaffolding in Hinemoa Street at 11-55 yesterday morning, Mr. I. Dean, carpenter, 42 Longsdale Crescent, received an injury to bis pelvis. He was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance. An injured left leg was received by .Mr. A. Wood. 25 Holm Street, when he fell in Courtenay Place at 4.40 yesterday afternoon. The Free Ambulance reinovc'd him to hospital. Minor injuries were received by .Mr. G. imvidson. wool broker. 39 Rawahiti Street, and Miss V. Robertson. 52 Hobson Street. when a car in which they were driving collided with a safety zone opposite the Wellington Railway Station at. about 8 o’clock last night. They were attended by a doctor.
