First “All-Up” Dispatch From England Advice has been received from the Post Office that the first full dispatch of letters from the United Kingdom for New Zealand under the Empire airmail scheme is due at Auckland on August 12. The mail, comprising :10891b. of letters for New Zealand, was dispatched by flying-boat from Southampton on July 28 and arrived at Sydney on August 6, connecting with the Kairanga leaving Sydney for Auckland the same evening. . The Kairanga is due at Auckland on Friday, but the time of arrival depends on the weather. If the mails connect with the express train .leaving Auckland at 3 p.m. or 7.15 p.m. On Friday they will arrive at Wellington at 7 am or, alternatively, 9.30 a.m. on Saturday, and will be delivered by postman the same morning. Arrival by the later train will mean a later delivery than is usual beyond the business area of the city.
