' London, July 1. “J|/JORE’ children are ruined by excessively devoted mothers than Iby wicked lovers,” declared Mr. Raymond Henniker-Heaton at a meeting of the British Union of Practical Psychologists the other day. > “Really it is a pity we have to have parents,” he added. “Who is the potential, the most deadly, enemy of the boy? The mother is. And the father comes a good second. Indeed more children are ruined by parental love than lack of it. Major cases are by no means rare, but minor cases ,of faulty training are general. “The tragedy of the badly reared child goes beyond the child; the inevitable adult tragedy beyond the individual. It is damaging to the State, to the highest development of the human race.”
