During the absence of their parents at a neighbour’s house three children, Shirley Croke, aged 9, Winifred Croke, aged 7, and David Croke, aged. 5, were burned to death in a wooden hut nineteen miles from Camden last night. The parents and the two elder daughters were playing cards with neighbours when the fire occulted, but were unable to rescue the children owing to the flames having obtained too great a hold.
