In the Midland Counties tennis championship finals Borotra and Gentlen (France) defeated Puncec and Mitic (Yugoslavia), 10-8, 6-4, 6-4. In the mixed doubles Malfroy (New Zealand) and Mme. Mathieu (France) defeated Butler and 'Miss Freda Ames (Great Britain), 6-4, 7-5. THE DAVIS CUP Australia And Mexico

Mexico City, July 10.
The Mexican Lawn Tennis Association has announced that Eugenio Tapia, Daniel Hernandez and a third player to be selected later will represent Mexico against Australia in the Davis Cup at Kansas City. It is stated that the Australians refused to play at Mexico City on account of the unfavourable climate.
