FRANCE PROTESTS TO ROME
Frontier Incident
(Received July 8, 8.45 p.m.)
London, July 8.
M. Bonnet, French Foreign Minister, has instructed M. Biondell, Charge d’Affaires in Rome, to make a strong protest to the Italian Government over the frontier incident of July 6, when Italian frontier guards tired on two Frenchmen who had inadvertently crossed the frontier, says the Paris correspondent of “The Times.”
One of the two, Rene Delaitre, a medical student, who was seriously wounded, is still in a critical condition. An official investigation has established that he was well within French territory when wounded.
