Progress is being made with the erection of a block of Government offices in Aitken Street, Wellington. This building, to be erected in three sections, has a frontage of about 200 feet in Aitken Street, and is located on the southern side of that street between the offices of the Institute of Marine Engineers and those of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. The concrete section will be four stories in height, and the two side sections three stories. The building is designated a temporary structure by the architects of the Public Works Department who designed the building, tire woodwork being bolted throughout. The exterior walls will be plastered.
