THIRD DAY FORM

To-day’s Prospects For * Trentham GOOD ACCEPTANCES Going Will Be Very Holding (Br The Watcher.) Excellent acceptances have been received for the third and concluding dayof the Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting at Trentham to-day. _ The weather has improved and is yet fair. There was a heavy frost yesterday morning, and the going will be very holding, even if the conditions remain favourable. Features of the programme will be the Winter .Hurdles and the July Steeplechase, in which the well-balanced fields.should Provide good contests. Several fresh horses are engaged, but in the main form on the first two days should prove fairly reliable. The card is as follows: —

11.30— TALAVERA HURDLE HANDICAP, of £3OO. One mile and a half.

Chaste .... 9 4 Greekarina .. H.O Form points to Valarth and King Mestor, and the former is likely to have benefited by his race on the first day, when he won in fine style. At the weights Valarth is likely to be preferred, although King Mestor may show improvement also. Lustral won the Highweight Handicap on Thursday, but in his initial hurdling effort at Marton his jumping left a lot to be desired. However, he may fence with more confidence after the experience he gained there. Contract was going well when he fell on Thursday, and Chaste is worthy of consideration after her,, earlier efforts. The likeliest of the others may be Curie, who ran prominently for most of the way in the Highweight Handicap. The favourites may be Valarth, King Mestor, Contract.

Great Quex . 8 7 Keen Sight . 8 0 Flying Acre, Tom Tom and Miss Waitarere are bracketed.. The field contains n number of horses who have not raeed at the meeting'. Form suggests good prospects for Sly Fox and Yours Truly. The latter is a likely improver. Of the fresh horses Great Legion impressed at Feilding at Easter, Proclamation was a winner at Hastings in the maiden class, and Diareus similarly at Otaki. Sen Acre was unlucky last Saturday at Marton, and through Shining Hours the form appears up to the class. The best supported may be Great Legion, Yours Truly, Sly Fox. 13.48—

Smilin’ Thru 9 0 Willonyx 9 0 Over the shorter distance than in tbe Wellington Steeplechase the consistent AU Irish should take a lot of beating. Clarion Call might improve, and the consistent but unlucky Bryce' Street should make his presence felt. Kahunoke and Monastic nave form at the meeting, and a fresh horse like Power Chief, who has improved since displaying very promising form at Ellerslie, should add much interest to the contest. The main fancies may include All Irish, Bryce Street, Power Chief. 1.30—

With a better post position than he drew on Thursday, Jazz Boy should show up prominently, and Jan Ridd has to bo respected after his two good seconds to Great Pal. Advance Plane had none the best of the luck when he finished third on the first day and should take beating. Sporting Gift-bus performed very creditably lately and should run well. Flying Acre, Ai'in, Sing Lee and Philemup are all possibilities. Some who may be in demand are Jan Ridd, Jazz Boy, Advance Plane.

WINTER HURDLES HANDICAP, of £750.

A good effort ntuy lie expected from Urination, who is very fit. Full of Scotch should again race well in spite of his rehandicap for his win on the first day. but he will bo well tested with his weight over the long journey, which is the longest he has attempted. Form on the first day points to Courtyard, Charade and Spender performing well and they should make it difficult for Full of Scotch under the more favourable terms upon which, they will meet him. Donegal and John Charles may show improvement upon their running on Tuesday. Charade gives the impression Hint she may stay solidly. Popular fancies may bo Full <>f Scotch, Charade, Erination, “"wiNTHR OATS HANDICAP, of £’soo.

Monipero ... 711 After his good fourth m the M hyt? Handicap, Ned Cuttie appears to have bright prospects, but he is close in the ■weights to two sound performers, Cata-

logue and Alma, who should take beating. Alma will be making her first appearance nt the meeting and she is a brilliant mare when fit. Engo has disappointed in his two races at the meeting, but there may be hope for him. Sweet Rose won brilliantly on-Thursday and should be wel. in the picture jf she displays the same dash. Lady Montana and Monipere are capable of solid efforts and Airam may prove best of the others if she jumps out well. Requiem has a chance on her Feilding form. The favourites may be Ned Cuttie, Sweet Rose, Lady Montana.

Pukelio « 9 Thaln Paper Slipper should be nil the better for his race on Thursday but will require to show much improvement to win. De Friend and Prince Acre, who was narrowly beaten bv Matoru on Tuesday, should be well in‘the picture and Rollicker is likely to display some improvement. Gaily has run two good races at the meeting and similar form should make her very dangerous. Thala ran a creditable third on Thursday and Rebel Mate shaped well even though he missed a place on the first day. Maori Song has failed to show his true form in his two races at the meeting and Finland, who is very smart, failed to do us well as expected on the first day. Some' who may find favour are Gaily, Rebel Mate, Prince Acre.

Tidewaiter ..8 5 El Meynell, Sunbeam and Warehi nave been placed at the meeting and form suggests that they will race prominently. Auto Sweep and Silver Sox ran creditable races on the second day and slight improvement should make them dangerous. Rotoma and Happy Landing are possibilities and the likeliest of the others are Great Bramble, who shaped fairly well on Thursday, and Hamarin. Some who may be ,in demand are El Meynell, Rotoma and Silver Fox.
