NEGRO DEBATERS
Le Moyne College negro debaters, who will 'debate ugninst a team from Victoria University College in the Wellington Town Hall on Wednesday, July 20, have already become very popular witii those who have come in contact with them. ■Nearly 12<JO appreciative Aucklanders listened to the debate between the visitors and a team from Auckland University iMilege. The frequent applause and laughter fold its own story of. the fluency of the speakers and their witty sallies. The two negroes, Messrs. GHton and Byns, can fairly be regarded as masters of this type of debating. Both gained immediate favour with the audience by rheir penetrating humour, and this, combined with their eloquent exposition of their motion, made the debate one that will not soon be forgotten. The subject of the debate against Victoria College will be “That people of America have found Hie formula for happiness,” aud the visitors will take the affirmative.
