Photograph Of Inspection For City Council
As a mark of appreciation by rM officers and men of the Wellington Regiment of the interest being taken by the civic authorities in the Territorial movement, a large colour photograph showing the mayor, Mr. T. O. A- Hislop, inspecting the Ist Battalion, the Wei® lington Regiment, outside the Town, Hall is to be presented to the city council at its next meeting. The photo® graph, which was taken on the occasion of the military parade held in celebration of ths King’s birthday, is of particular interest as the mayoral inspection was the first made since before the war.
The presentation of the photograph will be made by Lieutenant-Colonel E. M. Stace, E.D., officer commanding the Ist Battalion, the Wellington Regiment.
Doncaster Corporation has refused permission to a local firm of colliery owners to work coal under Doncaster racecourse.
