Wellington Market Active HEAVY TRADING YESTERDAY Activity in Government loans was n featuj-e'in the unusually heavy trading on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday. Fourteen parcels of inscribed stock and bonds were sold at steady rates. The remainder of the large turnover was confined almost exclusively to Australian industrial and trading issues. Woolworths, Ltd., were well supported and firmed, sharply on active trading to 22/6. Woolworths (N.Z.) also improved. a sale being made at 21/3. Woolworths Properties had sales at 1-1/-, J. Coles remained firm in _ anticipation of the dividend and a possible distribution.

Union Banks improved to business at £B/13/6, and there was a. better demand for other banks at firm rates. Australian Paper Manufacturers, pref., sold a shade firmer at 24/6, Dunlops improved to 22/-, and Felt ami Textiles to 33/3.
