GOVERNMENT POLICY CRITICISED

Mr. Mazengarb In Timaru

Dominion Special Service.

Timaru, July 7.

Mr. O. C. Mazengarb, National Party candidate for the Wellington Suburbs seat, addressed a large meeting in Timaru to-night, when he was at times forced to deal with many interjections. He criticised the policy of the Government, and, during cries of “leave the Government alone,” Mr, Mazengarb emphasised that it was a different storynow to last election, the Labour Government’s attitude being, “Hands off. You must not criticise us.” At one stage a constable moved to speak to an interjector, Mr. Mazengarb intervening with the words, “Leave him alone, constable. He’s all right. If you took him in charge I would have to remain here to-morrow and appear for him.”
