Tibbett In Wellington On August 9
TfUSICAL circles are agog with M pleasurable anticipation over the forthcoming tour of New Zealand by Lawrence Tibbett, the American baritone, which commences in Wellington on August 9. Lawrence Tibbett comes as no stranger. He has been seen on the films and heard over the radio, but to hear him in person the concert-plat-form must be an unforgettable treat. His voice has completely captivated Australian music-lovers, and the Tibbett season in Australia has been a series of remarkable successes—unbounded enthusiasm, packed theatres and a personal as well as a vocal triumph night after night. He came to Australia with well-established standards of vocal perfection, and at no point of his strenuous tour of the Commonwealth has he fallen below those standards, it is said.
Accompanying Mr. Tibbett is Mrs. Tibbett. Stewart Wille, Mr. Tibbett’s pianist, is a soloist as well.
