SENIOR MAGISTRATE
Mr. J. L. Stout Appointed To Wellington SUCCESSOR TO MR. MOSLEY The transfer of Mr. J. L. Stout, stipendiary magistrate at Palmerston North, to Wellington as senior stipendiary magistrate, was announced last evening by the Minister of Justice, Hon. 11. G. R. Mason. Mr. Stout is to take up his new appointment on the expiry of the leave granted to the present senior stipendiary magistrate, Mr. E. D. Mosley, who will retire from the position on June 20 for reasons of illhealth. z
Mr. John Logan Stout ,who was born in 1879, is a son of the late Sir Robert Stout. He was educated at Nelson College Otago Boys’ High School, Wellington College, and Victoria University College graduating bachelor of laws in 1905. He was editor of the New Zealand Lawreports from 1910 to 1915, and was appointed to the magisterial bench in 1918. He has been stationed at. Palmerston North ever since his appointment to the magistracy.. Mr. Stout collaborated witli his father in the publication of a history on New Zealand.
