Galvanised Iron Workers At Newcastle CONDITIONS ANNOUNCED BY JUDGE By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. a (Received May 9, 10.25 p.m.) Sydney, May 9. The prolonged strike at Lysaght’s galvanised-iron works at Newcastle took a favourable turn to-day when Mr. Justice Cantor announced the conditions which lie considered should govern the immediate resumption of work. Lysaght’s representative accepted the conditions, while the men’s representatives will submit them to mass meetings to-morrow. Since the strike began nearly ( three months ago more than 700 men' have been rendered idle, and there is a great shortage of galvanised-iron, resulting in building operations ' being greatly hampered.
