OBITUARY
Lord Harlech London, May 8. ~ The death has occurred of Lord Harlech, father of Mr. W. Ormsby-Gore, Secretary for the Colonies. George Ralph Charles Ormsby-Gore was born on January 1, 1855, and became third Baron Harlech on the death of his father in 1904. He was educated at Eton and Sandhurst, and was formerly a lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards. Be was returned to the House of Commons for the Oswestry Division of Shropshire in 1901, and retired when he was elevated to the Peerage. He was Lord-Lieutenaut of County Leitrim and Merioaeshire and was Constable of Harlech Castle since 1927 He married Lady Margaret Etnel Gordon, daughter of the tenth Marquess of Huntly, in 1881, and had one son, Mr. William George Ormsby-Gore, who lias been Secretary of State for the Colonies since 1936.
