FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Mostly Fair To Fine; Cold Temperatures.
Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending at 3 p.m. to-day: —
A shallow depression is centred east of Napier, but is filling up and a slight westerly depression is passing in the south. An anti-cyclone
still covers south-eastern Australia. The forecast is for northerly winds at first in Cook Strait and on parts of the east coast; elsewhere south-westerly or southerly and a change to freshening southerlies advancing aloug the east coast to-day. Seas rough about Fovenux Strait; elsewhere slight to moderate, but rising
south of Castlepoint. Light to fresh south-west to southerly winds and moderate seas in the eastern
Tasman Sea. .. Weather for the most part fair to fine, but some scattered rains at first between Hawke’s Bay and East Cape. Some scattered showers also in the far south and extending with the wind change along eastern districts of the South Island. Temperatures cold with some frosts
