Last Matches Of Season I ',l'he Wellington full-bore rille-shooting season came to an end on Saturday afternoon. Only three clubs, Potone, Karori, and University, were represented at Trentham, and the championship events have now been decided in nil the clubs affiliated to the Wellington Rille Association. The weather was fine, but decidedly cold in the later stages. A northwesterly wind, which varied both in strength and in direction, affected Hie scores, more particularly al the longer of. the several ranges at which shoots were conducted. During the afternoon the chairman of the association inspected the Scddon Range, and complimented the range foreman ou the efficient manner in which the equipment had been maintained during the season. FINAL KARORI MATCH J. I. King Takes C.A.C. Cup The Karori Rifle Club fired the final match for the C.A.C, and Bertram Cups on Saturday afternoon. Several other trophy competitions were also concluded. J. I. King mastered the conditions to register top score, 90. and win the C.A.C. Cup from D. Hare by the narrow margin of one point. For the Bertram Cup, handicap men only, the same margin separated the winner, J. F. Ross, from the runne'r-up. R. J. Stewart. The competitions decided on Saturday were nearly all closely contested, no fewer than three being won by one point. At the close of the shooting, tlie president, Mr. T. H. R. Boon, announced the results, and referred briefly to the very successful season experienced, the mutually helpful spirit among members old and young, and the pleasing fact that the trophies had not all been won by one or two men only.
