Labour Candidates At Municipal Elections
Sir.—Your leader of this morning has appeared at a very opportune time: I would like to suggest that it be printed in leaflet form, and a copy put into the hands of every elector. The time is too short to do this for YVednesday’s municipal elections, but could it not be done before the Parliamentary elections? I ant sure the leaflet would be appreciated not only by the business man, but by all those who through their own initiative, hard work, thrift, and careful living, have saved something for their old age—in short, those who have the Britisher’s sense of independence and' self-respect. Any man who saved £lOO before the present Government came into power, cannot say he has £lOO-to-day: the valuejd’ that £lOO has been reduced to at least £7o. The sustenance men and those who want to do as little work as possible, ami ride home on the physical and mental efforts of their brother men, are the who support Socialism.—l am., etc.. THRIFTY. Wellington, Ylay 9. [Tlie editorial referred to wa« entitled “Masquerading as Labour,” and appeared in yesterday’s issue.]
