FIND OF MOA BONES IN OTAGO
Classification By Expert
Dominion Special Service.
Dunedin, May 9.
An interesting collection of moa bones was recently found by Mr. R. S. Thompson during gold-mining operations at YY'etherstones, near Lawrence. This is probably the first find of its kind made in this locality. These bones are now housed in the university museum, and Dr. Benham has classified some of them as belonging to the largest Otago moas and others to the two commonest species of moa.
