International Alliance On Women Police T'HE following resolutions, recently X adopted by the Women Police Committee of the International Alliance of Women for Suffrage and Equal Citizenship is of immediate interest: — 1. That a high educational standard and experience in social work are essential in those undertaking the work of women police. 2. That the age of recruits for women police should be not younger than 25 years. 3. That the preliminary training of women police should be done by women and some training latjr be given by men. 4. That where women police are employed a policewomen of higher rank should have entire charge of them and be directly responsible to the chief of the police.
The fourth resolution is Interesting in that it outlines the system in vogue ip South Australia, and this is the only State in Australia where there is a separate department for women police directly responsible to the Commissioner of Police.
