Unemployment Benefit Stated to have obtained .£25/17/from the Employment Fund by making false statements as to liis age, Jack Brophy, labourer, aged 22, was fined £27/10/- by Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday. , There were only, two charges, .said, Mr. G. Satherley, of the Labour Department, though' money had been drawn since May, 1936. Brophy then stated that he was born in 1914, where-; as he was under 20 years of age andl not eligible for relief. i
