Overwhelming; Majority For Government
NAHAS PASHA DEFEATED By Telegraph.—Press’ Assn.—Copyright. Cairo, April 3. The elections in Lower Egypt have been completed except for 18 . seats, where a re-election will be essential owing to technicalities. ' The Coalition Government has an overwhelming majority. The Government has 96 seats, and the Saadist Wafdist Party 79. The Opposition consists of 59 Independents and 12 \Vafdists. „ , Those defeated include Nahas laslut and Ebeid Pasha, former Minister of Finance. Botn have refused appointments to the Senate. The families of opposing election candidates at Minia clashed and exchanged shots, six deaths' resulting'. Rioting led to three deaths at other places.
