Regulating Dominion Exports To Britain empire’ producers Commodity Councils To Be Set Up By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received April 4, 10.50 p.m.) Sydney, April 4. The Empire producers’ conference to-day accepted with slight modification the British proposals for regulating the flow. of Dominion produce into Britain. The resolution as adopted recommends Empire producers to co-operate to establish commodity councils on the lines of the Empire Beef Council and the International Beef Conference created under the British Live Stock Industry Act, 1937. The duty of these councils will be to advise their constituent organisations regarding the flow of supplies to the United King- . dom. • The resolution accepted the Ottawa order of preference giving the local producer first place on the Home market, the' Dominion producer second place and the foreign producer third place. The commodity councils will be expected to institute a continuing survey of market supplies and conditions and in consultation with Empire Ministers shall take the necessary action to secure the expansion of existing and the creation of new markets. Delegates ?vere the guests of the Prime Minister, Mr. J. A. Lyons, at Canberra during the week-end. Mr. F. Waite (New Zealand) to-day described the capital as the most wonderful garden city in the world and a complete revelation to the New Zealand delegation. '
