HAWKE’S BAY POLO TOURNAMENT
First Games Decided Dominion Speciat Service. Hastings, April 4. The annual yankee tournament of the Hawke's Buy Polo Club commenced at Hastings to-day. Seven senior teams and six junior teams, representing eliibs in all parts of the North Island, are taking part in the tournament, which will conclude on Saturday. Seven.games were played to-day, open and handicap games being played together. Following are the results : — Open Events. Senior grade: Hawke's Bay defeated Poverty Bay B. 6-0; Rhngjtikei drew with Waipawa. 3-3; Poverty Bay A defeated .Masterton A, 9-2; Hawke’s Bay defeated Wallingford. 6-0. Junior grade: Hastings defeated*Atua, 8-3; Tuihape A defeated Taihape B. 8-0: Mastertoll l’> defeated Wainiiirama, 16-0. Handicap Events. Senior: Poverty Bay B (handicap 10) defeated Hawke’s Bay (6), 10-6; Waipawa (13) defeated Rangitikei (6), 13-9; Poverty Buy A (3) defeated Masterton A (6), 12-8: Hawke’s Bay (scr.) defeated Wallingford (3), 6-3. Junior grade: Hastings (scr.) defeated Atua (4), 8-7: Taihape A (4) drew with Taihape B (12), 12-12; Masterton B (10) defeated Waimarama (12), 2612.
