Late Mr. William Barton

PROBATE OF WILL GRANTED The estate of Mr. William Barton, sheepfarmer, Featherston, who died fit Wellington on February 26, has been sworn at under £250,000. Probate of the will has been granted to Mr. Roy Nathaniel Barton, Sheepfarmer, Featherston, and nephew of the late Mr. Barton.

Mr. William Barton, who was 80 years of age, was connected with pioneer families on both sides. Until a year ago, when he paid a holiday visit to Java, he took an active part in the management of White Rock Station. He had many financial interests in New Zealand. He is survived by his widow, formerly Miss Lucy Studholme, and five daughters, Miss Marie Barton (England), Mrs. B. Quinn (South Africa), Mrs. E. Lutyens (England), Mrs. R. M. Johnson* (Mount Torlesge, Canterbury), and Miss Elspeth Barton (Wellington). Another daughter, Miss Florence Barton, died at Featherston when she was Ip years old.
