Organisers In Germany Tracked Down NAZI POLICE CLAIM Charges Of High Treason To Be Preferred By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Berlin, March 23, The Nazi secret police claim that at last they have tracked down the organisers of the “German Freedom Party,” which for months past has been broadcasting mysterious radio messages and circulating thousands of pamphlets inciting the people to overthrow the present regime. It is understood that a number of men and women have been arrested, including two editors, a former Reichstag deputy, and civil servants, and that they are awaiting trial before the dreaded People’s Court, from which there is no appeal. They will he charged with high treason, the extreme penalty for which is beheading. COMING PLEBISCITE Propaganda Campaign Opens London, March 23. The Berlin correspondent of the “Dally Telegraph” states that the whole of Germany was the scene of remarkable mass parades to-night when Nazi Guards, Storm Troops, the motor corps, and the flying corps were drawn np In every town and village to listen to speeches broadcast from Berlin by the Minister of Propaganda, Dr. Goebbels, and the respective corps leaders. They were given “marching orders” for the plebiscite campaign. The tone of the speeches suggested, in the absence of other opponents nt the election, that the Germans will be offered a picture of a “hostile world,” in the face of which they must provide evidence of unity. Herr Lutze, Chief of the Staff of the Storm Troops, said, “The world must know that where the banners of the Storm Troops are. once unfurled no power on earth can remove them.” GERMANY’S SYMPATHY Grievances Of Hungary Berlin, March 23. Two squadrons of German cavalry proceeded to the Hungarian frontier, where they fraternised with Hungarian regiments, indicating that Germany is following up her declared policy of championing Hungary’s grievances against the peace treaties. Another indication that Germany is reviving her pre-war dream of hegemony in south-eastern Europe and the Middle East is the opening of the Berlin-Bagdad air service. Herr Hitler telegraphed the King of Iraq congratulations on his birthday.
