HOSPITAL ESTIMATES
Capital Expenditure SCHEDULE APPROVED Capital estimates for 1938-39 totalling £777,147 and including £750,000 by way of'loan for the major additions project, to the inclusion of which certain members objected, were approved by the Wellington Hospital Board last night. The schedule was as follows:— Repayment of loans, £6014; sinking fund for debentures, £4071; repairs and additions Macarthy Home (balance); say, £2500; electric clocks, £2O; replacing nurses’ home roof with iron (balance), say, £1000; tennis courts, Ewart and fever nursing staffs, £l5O. Deep therapy department: One new tube stand ’(approximate), £328; one new deep ray plant (approximate), £1600; one Chaoul low voltage, £800; mangle, £4000; purchase of Lower Hutt property, (hospital site), £5664; miscellaneous, £lOOO/
By loan: Additions, nurses’ home, boilerhouse, acute block, £750,000.
