GOLF COMPETITIONS

Manor Park Club A series of competitions will be played on the Manor Park Links at the week-end. On Saturday afternoon, there will be an 18-hole bogey; on Sunday morning an 18liole stroke, and on Sunday afternoon a stableford bogey. Players will arrange their own partners in these events. Douglas, professional coach to the Otago Golf Club, in a letter to Mr. G. O. Sutton, secretary of the New,Zealand Golf Council, on the Buliuaeewan links at Dunedin on which the New Zealand championships are to be decided iu November, states that the new greens have come on wonderfully, and the tournament this year will be a test for some real golf. In the last six years the Otago club has made 16 new greens. "If we can get a warm October to bring the grass along, the course will be in excellent condition,” Mr. Douglas concludes. Karori Club’s Opening The official opening of the Karori Golf Club is to take place to-morrow. A mixed Canadian foursome is to be played, starting at noon.
