When decarbonising the engine it is important that the bolt holes in the cylinder block should be free of carbon when the cylinder head is replaced. Otherwise the bolts will bottom on the carbon and the threads may be stripped when the bolts are being screwed up. Even if the threads are not injured it will be impossible to screw the head down tightly if the bolts bottom ou an accumulation >of carbon in the holes. Too Much “Shake” Excessive vibration or shake of modern engines is an indication of over-flexibility of the rubber 'blocks which support them. This is due to looseness or softening of the rubber. Try tightening the bolts; if the trouble continues new blocks may be required. Search for and correct any oil leak ' which may be saturating the blocks and causing disintegration.
