Huntly Coal Miners’ Attitude MEN HOLD MEETING Owners Firm On Previous Decision Dominion Special Service. Auckland, March 24. A decision to resume work on a date nominated by the coalmine owners for a conference was carried at a meeting held by miners throughout the Huntly district to-day. Mr. T. O. Bishop, secretary of the New Zealand Coalmine Owners’ Association, has been advised this evening of the men’s decision. A mass meeting of the miners will be held at Huntly to-morrow to receive the report of the men's delegates on the meeting held to-day, and the men will be informed if any communication has been received from the coalmine owners. In the meantime all the mines in the district with the exception of Pukemiro are idle Hopes are entertained among the miners that a conference will be, arranged by the owners so that work will be resumed on Monday next.
