Opening Postponed By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, March 26. At the request of delegations gathered at Ngaruawahia last week, Ngatiporou tribesmen have agreed to postpone the opening of the Poraurangi meeting-house at Waioma tatinin until May 19 in order that visiting Maoris may proceed from the Ngatiporou headquarters to Wairoa for the Sir James Carroll memorial celebrations the following week. The Governor-General’s presence . at the Sir James Carroll memorial celebrations is now reported to depend on a satisfactory adjustment of his Excellency’s other engagements, which include the opening of an air pageant at Wellington on the same date.
