With twelve days to go to the end of the financial year, the Exchequer returns show that the total ordinary revenue amounts to £839,788,297, compared with £794,160,848 at the corresponding date of last year. . n The ordinary expenditure is £818,310,799 against £798,255,055 a year ago. There is a surplus of £21,468,498, of which £9,869,740 has been allocated to sinking funds. Gold Mining Returns The Okarito dredge reports a return of 28oz. lldwt. for 118 hours’ work. Messrs. W. A. Miston and Co., secretaries of the Okarito Rive Mile Beach Gold Dredging Co., Ltd., report a washup of 28oz. lldwt. for 118 hours’ dredging.
