Wellington. Markets Quiet PRICES A SHADE BETTER Dullness continued in the Wellington stock and share markets yesterday. Trading was inactive, but a slightly firmer trend was noticeable in prices. Government loans were quietly steady, dealings being confined to small parcels of 4 per cent, stocks., 1946-49 and 1902-oa. There was little doing in banks. Aew Zealands were firm at 43/6, several lots being sold at that price. E.S. and A. s were traded at £5/4/6. Australasias were still easy at £9/18/-, sellers not being interested. South British Insurance firmed to business at 46/-, cum dividend. Industrial and trading issues continued dull, with the exception of G. J. Coles, which showed some activity at 81/- to 80/11. British Tobacco sold, better _at 48/10. Australian Glass were weak at 90/6 and the preference was wanted at 40/-, with no offers from holders.
